[Yesterday’s News Today] Sales, Trips, and Conspiracies

Merry Thanksgivingsmas, Nintendadders (or whatever we call our faithful readers [its Nintendkids, Kevin – ed]). While we in the states have been cramming our faces with festive meals of sorts and reveling in overspending on Black Friday, a few things have happened over the week that deserve talking about. So, without further ado, let’s talk about those things. HAVE AT YOU!

Our Editor is a Madman

Our main man Kieran, head Ninten-Dad here as well as our Editor in Chief, spent the greater part of yesterday compiling a total list of all the sales happening over this Black Friday and Cyber Weekend hoopla. Now, I’m not saying that the man is a sucker for punishment, but I have to admire his dedication. There are a smattering of great games on sale, and a good chunk of them are first-party, which is pretty rare. Beyond those great deals, don’t miss out on some of the other greats hidden in there. Here are a few you should look out for:

  • Wandersong
  • All the Shantae Games
  • Creature in the Well
  • Katamari Damacy REROLL
  • OlliOlli: Switch Stance
  • Murder by Numbers
  • Contra (for almost nothing!)
  • Dragon Ball Fighter Z (84% off!)
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC for a third off!

I mean, there are TONS of other sales going on worldwide right now, but these ones are just in the EU eShop, which is pretty impressive. Take advantage of our good man Kieran’s hard work and save yourself a fat stack on some quality entertainment.

Another Pin in the April 1 Conspiracy

Earlier this week there was an update from Nintendo stating that Mario Maker for the Wii U and 3DS will no longer have the ability to upload new courses. Given, most people who were big Mario Maker fans have moved on to Mario Maker 2 on the Switch, but that’s not the big thing in this announcement. That belongs to the date when this all goes down: APRIL 1st 2021. Now, If you’ve been following our content for the last few weeks, you might remember that I talked about this to some degree, and it feels like the mystery keeps getting bigger. There are too many pieces to this puzzle for it all to just be a coincidence. Something big is happening on April 1, we can FEEL it. I’m not crazy YOU’RE CRAZY.

Bit.Trippin’ again (And Again)

In a move I didn’t expect, Gaijin Games is porting all of the Bit.Trip games from the days of the Wii. Personally, I’m a huge fan of these games (even if Core and Void are ridiculously hard) and I loved playing them every time I had a chance to. Newer fans might be more familiar with Runner 2: Legend of Future Rhythm Alien and Runner 3, but these are the genuine article. All 6 games are available on December 25 (how fitting) and each game contains three variable difficulties as well as additional content from the Bit.Trip Saga iterations of the games. For $5 bucks a piece (or 4 if you preorder now) these gems are hard to pass up. I’m in. I’m so in.

That’s it folks! It’s a slow week besides the massive sales happening for the next few days.
